The Aquarium du Limousin, located in the centre of Limoges, is in a former underground water tank. The aquarium is uncluttered and ideal for families with young and slightly older children. You will discover freshwater fish from European rivers and lakes, in a peaceful and educational setting. This excursion is particularly suitable in less favourable weather and can be perfectly combined with a short city walk or lunch in Limoges. Count on half a day.
Animals and nature experience
For many children, animals are a highlight during the holidays.
The Parc Zoo du Reynou is a spacious animal park in green surroundings. The wide walkways, natural enclosures and peaceful atmosphere make this park very suitable for families. Children can see animals up close, while parents enjoy the space and pace. This is an ideal day trip.
There are also several small-scale educational farms and petting zoos in the region where children can come into contact with farm animals and learn about nature and agriculture. These farms are quiet, safe and particularly suitable for younger children. Animals on the campsite (in development)
At Les Roussilles, we are working to develop our own animal pasture or small petting zoo on site.
This will give young children the chance to experience animals up close, in a safe and approachable way, without leaving the site. This extension fits completely within the peaceful and natural atmosphere of the campsite. More information will follow, feel free to ask during your stay.
Swimming and playing at the water's edge
The Lac de Saint-Pardoux is one of the most popular outings for families in the region. The lake has supervised swimming areas in season, sandy and grassy beaches, spacious picnic areas and plenty of open space to play. Ideal for hot summer days and suitable for children of different ages.
For older children and teenagers, it is Aquapark Lac de Saint-Pardoux highly recommended. This floating aqua park on the lake consists of slides, climbing and jumping elements and makes for an active and playful afternoon. The aqua park is seasonal and open during the summer months, depending on the weather. This activity is perfect to combine with a day at the lake.
Outdoor play and discovery
Not every outing has to be an attraction or park. The surroundings of Les Roussilles invite you to simply be outdoors.
Child-sized forest walks, playing along streams, picnics in nature and cycling on quiet roads provide moments that children often remember most. Here there is room to play, discover and move freely, without a busy programme.
